Mission
The pharmacy college improves health through innovative education , research and interdisciplinary practice development that attends to the diverse needs of the people of Sudan and beyond. The college will also meet and respond to the changing healthcare needs and expectations of the community.

Program objectives
The objectives of the pharmacy program is to enable and train the student to:
1-Practice according to the internationally accepted code or ethics
2-Accept the responsibility of continuing professional education in order to utilize advances in pharmaceutical sciences and to benefit from further postgraduate training in Sudan or elsewhere.
3-Initiate research into local drug problems and traditional medicinal plants as well as research into other fields of pharmaceutical or medical interest.
Program outcomes
By the end of this program , the graduate will have full comprehension and understanding of :
1-Scientific principles involving , IT skills, organic chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Analysis , Medicinal Chemistry, Biochemistry , Miicrobiology , Immunology , Pharmaceutics, Pharmacognosy,Pharmacology , Phytochemistry, Phytotherapy, Physiology , Pathophysiology,Toxicology, Therapeutics, Pharmacy Practice and Biostatistics.
2-Drug discovery process from natural products and synthetic compounds with a special focus on lead finding and optimization , structure –activity relationships and computer –aided drug design and modern medical chemistry.
3-Comounding techniques and skills for production of sterile and non-sterile pharmaceutical preparations.
4-Good dispensing pratices.
5-Different techniques and skills related to pharmaceutical industry and research with special reference to quality assurance.
6-National and global legislation of conventional and herbal medicines.
7-Processes of drug marketing , management and pharmacoeconomics.
8-Different aspects of pharmacotherapy.
9-The patient –centered pharmaceutical services within the primary care and community setting.
10-Applying pharmaceutical principles in assessing patient health-related information to improve therapeutic outcomes.
11-Effctive participation in different national pharmacy and therapeutic communities.
12-Recognizing patient, s social, cultural and moral concerns and /or values systems and consistent use of information for appropriate professional interactions.

21-Utilization of pharmacokinetics data in therapeutic drug monitoring to make appropriate patient-specific drug therapy recommendations.
Program Evaluation Methods
The program will combine both Donald Kirkpatric and the 360- degree models of evaluation.
Using the Kirkpatrik we will focus on the student , s reaction to learning and the 360-degree model will be used evaluate feedback from different sources as follows:
1-Facilitator , s evaluation: By the end of each module , facilitators will be asked to express their evaluation using a structural form.
2-Student , s Evaluation : Using structural questionnaire , students will be asked to provide their feedback after each ,odule .
Both methods of evaluation will be used to recommend any adjustment regarding the module structure if there is any need.
3-External examiner, s Evaluation:L The external examiner report wil be presented to faculty board and will be used to address the whole structure of the curriculum.
4-Discussing student, s exam ination results within the faculty board.
5-Course coordinator structured report: that will be done at the end of the course.
Program Strategies
The program adopts the most applicable recent educational strategies . It fosters the student, s self –learning strategy that will prepare the students and enable them to be long-life directed learners .The learning is based on the problems that the student may encounter during and after graduation. So it mimics the real life situation and it will develop and upgrade the student, s abilities of critical thinking and reasoning.
There is integration between the basic sciences taught at the beginning of the study period and the radiological and technological sciences taught in advance semesters, hence the students will be able to utilize and deeply understand all the program subjects.
Establishment of the program among other health programs will provide the students the opportunity of interdisciplinary education and will give the students ,ore chances to be trained as none of the health team members that deliver the health services as patients center approach.
Learning Situation
Based on the above mentioned educational strategies , the program adopts a wide variety of teaching and learning ,methods that consider the individual different learning styles and the innovative learning theories, the program uses all of the following ,methods according to the nature of the course and the educational objectives. The methods are:

Program System
Same as the general ordinances , rules and regulations of ElSheikh Abdallah ElBadri undergraduate program. Modified quadratic semester system is going to be adopted for the implementation of different curriculum components in 10 consecutive semester of 15-16 weeks each throughout five academic years.Educational tools for the curriculul implementation include lectures, practical lessons , tutorials , class discussions , seminars , self –learning , supervised training and graduation project. Media of instruction would primarily be the English language with Arabic language being applied where appropriate.
Examination Regulations
Same as Ordinances , rules and regulations of ElSheikh Abdallah ElBadri undergraduate program.
Students assessment Policy
The curriculum is well-aligned hence thye assessment is directly linked to the program Outcomes. The pass of fail is based on the criterion –referenced standard setting. The assessment methods that will be used are:
1-Mid-semester examination
2-Practical examination.
3-Oral examinations.
4-Report writing.
5-training assessment.
The continuous assessment for all courses will carry the following values:
-Mid-semester examination : 20%
-Practical examination 20%
-Final examination 60%
The requirement for a pass in each course shall be 50%.
Based on a clssified percentage scale, attained marks (score) of semester test ,class work and end –semester exam. For different subjects studied in that semester are graded as :

Classification of the awarded degree
Categorization of the awarded degree (B.Pharm.) depends on the total percent share of the 10 semesters which result in any of the following different classes:

Curriculum Structure
The curriculum is an outcome –based curriculum, in shich the writing committee analyzes and evaluates thye graduate competencies with reference to Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) , National Academic Reference Standard (NARS) and with consideration to the local context of the Sudan.Finally the curriculum was restructured according to the recommendations of the committee of Higher Education Ministry.
This program provides B.Pharm. , the curriculum weighs a total of 180 credit hours distributed as :
1-Higher education and University requirements courses- 16 credit hours (8%)
2-Faculty requirement courses = 55 credit hours (28%) distributed as follows:
a)Basic science courses = 32 credit hours (17%).
b)Basic medical science courses = 23 credit hours (12%).
c) Basic and applied pharmaceutical sciences = 109 credit hours(61%) distributed as :
A. basic pharmaceutical science = 88 credit hours (48%) distributed as:
i-Pharmaceutical technology = 26 credit hours.
ii-pharmacognosy = 16 credit hours.
iii-Pharmacology = 15 credit hours.
iv-Pharmaceutical chemistry = 20 credit hours.
v-Pharmaceutical microbiology = 11 credit hours.
B-Pharmacy practice = 17 credit hours.
C-Graduate research project = 4 credit hours.
The current layout
In the following curriculum layout , it should be highlighted that one credit hour is equivalent to one lecture of one hour or one practical lesson of 3 hours for the semester.
